Last updated: 26 August 2026 · Reviewed: 26 August 2026 · By: Alston Antony
Answer nine short questions and get an honest LKR range for building your website in Sri Lanka — both the one-off setup cost and the yearly running cost. Every number is based on my documented assumptions from Sri Lankan quotations I've reviewed, not a "market average" I made up.
Your estimated cost (LKR)
These figures are ranges, not fixed quotes. Individual project quotes will vary based on the freelancer or agency, scope details, and current market rates.

How this estimate is calculated
Each answer maps to a base range in LKR, then adjustments are added or multiplied based on scope, design, ecommerce features, content and maintenance. The output is a range, not a single number, because Sri Lankan project pricing varies significantly by provider.
Assumptions
- Prices are indicative bands for Sri Lankan freelancers and small studios in 2026.
- Design cost scales with number of unique layouts, not just number of pages.
- Ecommerce base assumes WooCommerce or Shopify Basic. Complex custom stores can exceed these numbers.
- Content is a common cost driver — writer/photographer work is priced separately.
- Recurring costs assume annual hosting billing and includes SSL free via Let's Encrypt.
Example scenarios
